Phone not usable after ICS update in Xperia sola

My phone is bought in India and had intermittent network problems with Vodafone. It detected a SanDisk 32GB micro SD once and worked for few days until it stopped detecting, but works in Samsung and other devices.It has unexpected shutdown when running maps with GPS on. When ICS came i updated it straight away hoping all issues to be fixed.

Now these are the list of issues i face.

1. Battery drain (no problem. I will charge daily)

2. Network problem more often (restart will not fix all the time. Restart again and again sometimes gest the network back).

3. Network going while on call (Can link to issue 2).

4. Phone restarting without noitce or in between call. (Very annoying as calls get disconnected)

5. Phone not coming on when i manually restart. It shows Sony image, then Xperia screen and then goes back to SOny splash screen. I will have to do a Volume Up button Plus switch on. This will not work all the time. Then i have to do Volume down button plus power. This also doesnot work all the time. That means phone is off for some time around 1 to 2 hours.

6. SD card not at all dectecting.

I already bought a Samsung phone (paying another $200) as a back up phone. Now Samsung has become the main phone and Sola is almost shutdown.

I tried also repairing ICS using Update Service - No change

Is there anyway i can get rid of these issues ever in my Sola. Sending it to service center may take another 15 to 30 days to get the device and i would like to fix it myself if possible. Am i alone in this world with so much of issues.

I also have many issues with the last ICS release especially with wifi and slowness. Please Sony fix them. It went much better with older version...

1. smartphones have to be charged daily unless you don't use bluetooth, 3G, wifi, lower the brightness

2. get a new SIM card

3. get a new SIM card

4. most likely a faulty SIM card

5. I would say it's a sim card issue as all this 2,3,4 and 5 issues can be SIM card related, just get a brand new SIM and check again.

Check your simcard.Also if it again continues then please take it to sony service centre..Where do u stay in India??

Also fixing by yourself is not possible atleast for this phone.Its not a fault with SW but with HW.

As far as the mmory Card issue goes same..Check your cell with Sony Centre..It seems a HW isue

Ok. Based on your suggestions, i replaced the SIM card with another one(Vodafone India). The issue is still there. It is not finding the network(or disconnecting). So i assume there is something seriously wrong in the hardware or software.

I talked to a customer care executive at Sony, he suggets to switch to another service provider as Vodafone has problems with Gingerbread and Xperia Sola. But that is not worth an answer.

Going to customer care this week, if they cant repair it..bye bye..Sony i lost $400 and moving to another manufacturer.

Finally i gave it to service center. They downgraded the OS and gave back clainiming the netork issue is fixed. But it tok just 5 minutes to break the network. Now i will send to their main service center fordetailed checkup. The SD card problem may be due to a mother board problem as said by thier staff. Not sure what will be the status when i get the device back.

What do you mean by " main service center"? Cos I work with their official service center in the Benelux and I already know what they will do: nothing but put a brand new OS claiming it is now working...without even testing it more than 2sec... Sooo many phones come back without having been tested...Crap crap crap!!

I am not letting it go as such. I will fight till the phone reaches warranty expiry. If i still didnt get this working, then brand Sony would be removed from my world. One customer lost is equal to thousand lost.

After much of delays i got my phone one back today. It was submitted on 22nd October and got it on 21st November.

Went there and i was told to wait for 5 minutes as the phone charge was down.After 30 mins, a staff came and gave me the phone and told "everything fixed". While i was putting my SIM card and SD card, i asked her "What was the issue?". We replaced the touch screen ..now all problems solved. WHAAAAATTTTTTTT.. i never complained about touch screen issues. Mine is completly about network and sd card issues. I demanded to speak to the manager of the service center. She took the phone and came back in another 15 mins .. this time everything was fixed. They replaced the motherboard. Why did they delay this for a month which could have done in a days time.

Now i am careful and dont want to sent it again for service.

Now the phone is in GB, any possible issues if i update to ICS?

This phone is giving me sleepless nights. On the process of checking if everything works fine, i found that the headphone is not detecting. This is a factory made headphone that came with the box. Anyone knows any solution.?
