problems with wi-fi connection

after updating my xperia go to android 4.0.4 i do have problems with my wi-fi connection. when i connect to my wi-fi it works for a moment but stops in about a minute... wi-fi channel is lower than 11. someone plz help me... smartphone without wi-fi is not very smart...

so, it is not a problem to connect to my wifi, but the internetconnectivity disapears even though wifi is connected and my pc still is connected to internet with wifi...

Have you tried any other WiFi networks besides your own? Could be a good idea to rule out any issues with the WiFi itself.

I have the same wifi problem too. Only recently I noticed (so that means post ICS upgrade) I will connect to my home wifi, excellent connection, browse some pages or start internet radio then the logo disappears and I lose connection. When I check the wifi setting it shows it is still active but wont work until I turn it off then on again (bloody technology) then it may last 20 seconds or 20 minutes and happen again.

It's all been reset, upgraded, settings checked.

I have the same kind of problem. When I'm connected to a wifi router, I 'have aces to Internet then after a moment the connection is still specified by the icon but impossible to have acces to internet. I try to relauch Wifi by switch on switch off but impossible to switch off even if I'm leave my house the xperia go tell me that I'm connected to the wifi of my house. The only way to solve it is to restart teh smartphone then I'm able to be reconnected but after a period of time (can be 1 h as 20 min) then the problem come back.

Really anoying and i'm not sure it come from Upgrade to ICS

It happend on Three differetn wifi router in different FAI (Belgium : Belgacom (me), Voo, Belgacom (parent)

I am really wondering when Sony starts to fix the problem in their devices instead of giving advices to reboot the router and reconfigure the WiFi security.

That might work at home, but not when you're relying on a hotspot abroad.

@Sony: You could at least warn people before letting them update to ICS

Yup same here.

Upgraded to ICS and it worked fine for the firts few weeks. And now problems with the WIFI.

I put on the phone and it connects so my house wifi. No problem works fine. Then as i leave the house it says it still connected to my house wifi. Then i'm at work or at my wifes work and it still locked with my house wifi. While i'm miles away.

Before it would drop the house connection and pick up the wifi at my work of my wifes work. Even for a few weeks with ICS ..... but now it just lockes up.

So i try to shut down wifi (and then put it back on) ......to try to get the other connections but i cant turn it off.?!?!

It just stays on and keeps locekd with the last wifi it connected with.

Only way is to turn "off and on" the phone .... then it picks up either netwerk that is availeble. (and locks into that)

Even if i leave the house for a while and it is connected to my house wifi and working ...... i come back 1 hour later it says it's still connected to my house wifi ..... but i cant acces internet while my wifes phone just has internet and the laptop as well.

It's only the Go with ICS. My wife still uses the Go with GB ... and is looking at me with a smirk on her face. No problem there.

This is quite crucial that i can use internet on my phone so i can check my mail on the other locations.

And no it's not a problem with my or any other routers etz.

Please give us an estimate of the bug fix.

I have the same problem. I can connect to wifi at home on my BT hub, my xperia says connection strength excellent. But cannot use the wifi. I can still connect in other public places to (costa etc). This seems to have started since i updated to ICS. It was fine to start but for the last couple of weeks no joy at all on home network. All other devices work on wifi - xperia u can't Very frustrating!

I have the same issue. Xperia Go is the only device I experienced troubles with.

Surely the whoel point of this thread is for SONY to use it as a means to solve people's problems with their SONY products but so far it seems to be getting ignored.

I too suffer from the same problesm of the wifi not roaming wifi networks and not disabling the wifi feature. This is an irritation at least and is surely worth them having some input into fixing it.

Perhaps changing to a Samsung would be the best option.

Oh they don't give squat about the people already stupid enough to buy their sorry excuse for a smart phone.

I never ever going to buy a sony again .... never heard a personal excuse or something to help me. Notting. zip. nada...... and where is the update to jelly bean ..... should roll out end of march ....

hellooooooo half aprillll ....... and any explination for the delay ..... nooooooo

no customer info .... only pumping out new models and new stuff ....

but getting your stuff to work is a different story .... seems not to fit in the business model....

never ever ever gonna buy a sony .... even if it was the only phone manufactor still there.... i'll start writing leters again.

got a 200 + bucks phone that can't do hardly more than a 10 bucks old nokia without hanging and having to reboot it.

My advice ..... Get a samsung ..... thats what i'm gonna do as soon as i have made enough to cover my 200+ bucks loss ....
