Contacts bitrhdays

My previous phone had Windows Mobile 6.1. One of the things I liked was the fact that the contacts were managed by Outlook and as such very complete. My father had a ZTE Blade and the contact app (which I assume was the standard Android 2.1 app) had a section to add birthdays to the contact info.

Facebook won't cut it since not everyone has it (for one many relatives and the elder).

Any chance to achieve this using the built-in app? How to synchronize them with the calendar? Or can I expect it in a future update?

mandeep how can we enable alerts .. have it enabled but want 2 use a notification update

Ok. Go to settings. Go to xperia then u will see "Sony facebook integ" something like that, then enable it and enter ur facebook id...

Don't forget marks as correct...

Everybody has a birthday, not everybody has a Facebook. Sony shouldn't be relying on FB for contacts information.

Any way to do it using just the natice contacts app? How can I contact Sony about this?

For update contact u need to sync from facebook....

i m also using facebook integration...

I have all events shows in calender and contact is up to date...

Only Sony has problem thsi integragration, Which is best thing...

hi frmiriam,

have you tried using pc companion sync there are two sync option there, windows contact and calendar (actually I didn't tryed sync the calendar yet because it is grayed out here and I don't have outlook installed here)

or you maybe can try sync your previous phone outlook data to your computer outlook then install google calendar on your comp and sync outlook calendar to your google calendar account

there is another way for birthday events

if u want up to date birthday event then u can download "my calender" for play stor market..

Well, not all my contacts are on Facebook. so Facebook integration does not help in case your own phonebook from your previous phone used to have Birtdays and Anniversaries (I used a WM 6.1 before). The solution I am using now is Go Contacts. It allows me to save those fields. for Notifications, I use the Birthday Remonder.

Wish these things were part of the Android itself.

Would be better if Sony fixed this themselves (I mean their Xperia Android builds are fairly tweaked and modified)

Actually Facebook inside xperia was good at that point like birthday events,FB contacts up to date. etc..

Because Sony xperia insider cause bad performance in ui, becomes very lagy...thats why sony modify it..

Left this alone for a while... Found an app that allows me to add / edit birthdays without the need for another 3rd party (like FB) or any sort of web service (including GMail). It's called Birthdays.

Still I wanted the ability to add / delete and edit the fields on the phone itself... Hope you guys fix this soon.
