Wifi problem(using connectify)

actually dere is no source of dsl in my house....so for wifi i use connectify hotspot using tata photon/bsnl evdo on my laptop and then use wifi......i bought my xperia p a week ago...and in starting using wifi thru connectify worked fine...but after some days it shows CONNECTED to wifi but i cant browse.....i dont know whether it is an error in connectify or in my fone...if connectify has an issue den it wud be kind enuff of u too please suggest any other software for wifi hotspot....m using windows 7 on my laptop....

PLEASE...ANY HELP WUD BE APPRECIATED....THANKS IN ADVANCE :smileyhappy:..

p.s. i have ics updated in my xperia p ...

Unfortunately it sounds like you are having the same issue as all of us in this thread:

I even did a network capture which showed that the radio on the phone after the minute or so goes to sleep to preserve power but it doesn't seem that it wakes up in spite of the fact that their is data buffered for it by the access point/router.

I am using connectify too and I have the same problem since yesterday after I updated to ICS. but the interesting thing is I use Toshiba computer and so does few of my friend.. so I checked with them there is same problem connecting to the internet using connectify but it works all fine with Compaq PC. The internet and wifi to Xperia P works all fine from that computer... So i m just confused here...

So, I was wondering is it something related with the PC....???

Also, the internet doesnt disconnect when you are just using whatsapp or you are just connected.. .it disconnects when you are either browsing or using facebook or other apps like instagram.... is it same with you ?....

Yes,

It seems to be related to the amount of traffic or the rate/speed of the traffic. If the rate of traffic is light - just some notifications, etc. then it is fine. If you try to browse cnn.com for a while or a site with a lot of images (i.e. wallpapers) or even google play it seizes within a minute or two. Trying to sync your MS Exchange account for the first time will also have the same effect since it pulls messages for at least two weeks. I changed the setting to 3 days but it still locked up.

Any data "intensive" transfer seems to cause the interface to freeze.

Hello everyone. A week ago I bought the Xperia U, I usually use Connectify and the wifi worked fine with version 2.3.7, when you update to version 4.0.4 ICS, I can connect to wifi but Connectify from the cell runs out data traffic, this is very annoying for me since I have no wifi at my house I have so far and if I use this program as an extender or wireless signal. Please ask them to take out an update or something to fix it is hopeless.
