Tx. I do get some things happening that way, but I believe that I remain with old software. At least there is a fat text on top insisting upon a new version.

Installing successfully, I get asked to update the connectivity software. Half way well, it asks to disconnect, turn off, and connect. At that point my phone and the instruction on the screen looks different.

I get asked to slide down the status line, but my phone only shows three options. And yes, I hold the back key while plugging the USB chord.

I wonder if it is starting in safe mode? I'm assuming you are a mini user, so its probably all a bit different than the X10 'Rachels' [see what I did there Darkmax - he doesn't like me calling it a biggun ;-)] but Darkmax gives good advice... try doing a repair via either PC Companion or from Sony Ericsson Update Service. I have had much more success with the SEUS for some reason.
