Connect your phone to your computer and when inserting the USB cable into your phone press and hold the volume down key. Do this without starting any program. Check if you get any prompts stating anything about drivers problem. If not move the USB cable to another USB port on your computer and try again. If still nothing go to the device manager on your computer and check if you see any problems there. If you can see that the drivers has not been installed properly right click it and select to update the drivers manually. Point the search path to the drivers folder in the PC Companion folder.

If all this goes OK, try to use PCC or SUS to try update your phone again.

When my xperia S recognised a new update to 4.0 android, I checked phone if its number is in a list of updates. It was, and i tried to update but I'm still failing.

While using "Pc companion" my phone turns off and pc freezes. Sometimes it happens not to turn off and in these moments i do everything as it's said in instructions. However, when i press the button to minimize volume( as it said in instructions) and put the usb-cable, phone just goes on recharging.

While using "Update service" nothing happens at all. Pc freezes when i try to do the same steps. And a phone goes recharging again.

Please advice how can upgrade can be done. Maybe I'm still doing something wrong?

Looking forward to hear from you.
