[P] Problem with USB-connection

Few days ago I've found a problem - I can't connect my phone to PC via USB cable. When I connect - phone is just charging but no debug, no usb-sign in statusbar, no reaction from PC companion, nothing except charging.

When I trying connect with SEUS - I need to go in bootloader-mode, but I can't do this because PC doesn't see my phone anyway...

I've tried two usb-cables and three different laptops with Win 7, 8 and XP - result was same - nothing.

MicroUSB looks like new one. I can't repair software because can't connect to PC, I've already make hard-reset via android settings - no results.

Someone know what to do? In my town no Sony service, may have a solution that does not require service?

Please help

go to developer options and enable usb debugging mode.

aaaand..... nothing. Trying everything with Debugging and without - only charging.

I remember in pure CM7 firmwares was option something like "usb+charging"/"usb-only"/"charging-only", but there is no same option. Still waiting a solution...

Sounds like a hardware failure in the phone.

Best is to send the phone in for a (warranty) repair.

Do you get any pop-up's on the computers about drivers not being installed properly? Check device manager to make sure all drivers are correct.

What happens if you try to reinstall the phone software using SUS?

The phone should be connected in turned off state holding the volume down key. Are your computer able to detect your phone doing this?

First time inserting the phone require internet on PC for driver update on Windows.

In settings, got to Xperia tab. then check install PC companion option, does it show any dialog box when connecting to PC ??

What android version are you using, does your phone worked before this problem, or is it right from the box.

It can be due to some software ( USB firewall etc. ) on phone / PC that might be blocking your drivers from updating.

No any popups. Device manager says I have no problem devices. Drivers installed correct, because few weeks ago everithing was working. Software was not changed.

Current firmware is 6.1.B.0.544 Central Europe. On that fw and on GB usb was working fine few weeks ago.

If I try using SUS - I launch it, plug the phone in turned off state, hold 'vol down' key and connect the cable in microusb. Computer not detect anything, LED on phone stay red, then for 2-3 seconds green, then again red and starting charging.

Nope, nothing, not PC, not Phone is nothing showing, I said about this already. Phone is just charging. I've tried different combinations of options (Install PC comp., USB debugging) result is the same.

Phone was working, maybe 1 month ago, don't know, because rarely use cable for data transfer. For now Android version is 4.0.4.

Reinstalled PC Companion few times, installed flashtool with drivers, installed drivers separately (from sony site). I've two laptops where I do nothing, and there it was working, but now it not working everywhere.

I found a solution that could work.
Try Installing, Microsoft User-Mode Driver Framework.

After Installing, your device should be recognized by PC. If it didn't, then open 'Device Manager' from the Control Panel and select 'Portable Device' and install new drivers, automatically

Hope that will fix it.

Nothing. It start works on my main PC ~6 months ago, but only on that PC, nothing else cannot recognize phone.

For now I want to sell my phone, but dunno how to do this with broken connection...

hello..

i m facing the same problem ...
my xperia p is charging with pc n charger but my system didn't recognize it as any device connected....

i tried diffrent systems and cables... but still no response...

i went to service center guys too but they were very rude to me as my device is rooted and i use custom kernel too ... they don't even dignose my device ... just returned as it is ... ...
i had no choice but to go to a local street repair person he ask fo 1500 INR n told me to leave my device with him for a day or two ...
i don't trust them so i can't let them keep my device for that long ...

it feels really bad ... i have my device i had n old ROM file on sd card so i flashed device is on n fully functional xcept wifi & sim card...
so i m unable to use flashtool or anything to fix it ...
if there's a solution please ,please reply me ...
