Checking Availability of ICS Update

Can I check for the availability of ICS update through the inbuilt 'Update Centre' app provided by Sony?
My SI number is 1261-6535, and it presently says that my phone is up to date.

Also, I read somewhere that one can update the phoen through Sony Update Service irrespective of SI number, doesnt seem correct, but is that true?

Did you check your SI number here?

Thanks for the help.
My SI number is NOT on the list of those for which update has been released.
It is a singapore item (purchased from India though).

Anyway, the issue is about checking that talk page list again and again.
Will the availability of update also be reflected through the Update Centre app?
This would be a far more convenient option, and the app is almost futile if this functionality is not there..

I think the update will be not available about the "Update Center App".

I qoute the text of the blog announcement below:

you have to wait until it's release just like "Diskette" show you on that link, the update has to be approved in each country/network

and yes the update will show on the app once it's available or check with SUS or PCC

No that doesn't work yet....atleast in india....btw I m having the same SI number....i updated mine to .54 using PC companion.
