    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;This was asked ealier in another thread here &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So from an expert namely me I'll try and explain&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Gigabyte is completely the wrong terminology to use and we are trying to get it changed to Gibibyte and here's why&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Operating systems calculate disk and file sizes using binary numbers, so a new 32 GB Xperia S drive you've just purchased would be reported by the OS as "29.80 GB" (Meaning 29.80 GiB)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So straight away you've lost 2.20 GB add to that the space taken for the actual O/S and you're about right with whats been reported.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It is commonly thought that there is 1000MB some say 1024MB to 1GB computers read 1073MB as 1GB due to the binary and or the way the disk is read &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So to calculate 3200(GB) divided by 1073(What the computer reads) times 1000 = 29.82GB aka 29.80Gibibyte &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you ever want to test the actual space that a Pc etc will read add a few Zero's &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;IE:32GB add 2 Zeros (Less than 100) 100 and above add 3 zeros up to 1TB add 4 Zeros then dived by 1073 always then times by 1000 always &lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Can anyone guide me how to check total RAM size?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have Xperia S and it always shows 635MB total space but as per Sony it should be 1024MB.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I called Sony technical help center but they r saying rest memory will be taken by OS.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tried several tools to check total RAM size but always getting 635MB. I called Sony technical help center&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;They r saying 389MB will b taken by OS.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Currently I have ICS running on my device. It was the same case when I had Android GB version. Always getting 635 MB total space.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I checked Samung S2 with ICS, it has 813MB available for user.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also my device internal storage space showing 25.8 GB. Again Sony technical help representatives said OS is taking rest memory.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Your feedback will b appreciated.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sri&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
