Video mode bad focus

Hi!

HD (720p)

The camera stops focusing after 20 seconds of recording… all the image is out of focus! When approached my hand to the camera the software give another refocus but for a short distance, if you want to focus anything to 4 meters to infinity is always out of focus... and don't change, is fixed! What???

I’ve been reading this forum from a period of time (got my phone 4 days ago and like it very much for the price) and it seems that Sony is a little buggy this day’s… we can help (users) but something’s are just unacceptable, don’t you think?

By the way, the version 4.0 will have lot's of fixes on Sony app's or just the operative system and the old's app's?

No,it's not true !!! i suggest you do it. if you want to repair your Phone's firmware,then you loose every things but it's better to backup your phone's content before updating. I suggest you use SUS (SONY Update Service) to update your Phone's Firmware instead of PCC.

and it's an alternative way to back up you're phones content ,don't rely on PCC but i suggest you backup with PCC and Alternative Way !!!

I can't update the firmware with SUS...

It's because the phone have Sim Lock to the service provider?

Can upgrade to ICS?

My phone have lot's of junk app's from the operator...

By the way, i can't finalize the backup using PCC, always a error message... nice!

p.s. - PCC for OS X? When?

It has sim lock,so what ?!!! but should be update,like iPhones !!! they're lock but easily can be update.it may necessary to wait more time till your operator modified new firmware depend on your countries !!I think SONY has a alternative Software for Mac OSX i don't remmeber its name but you can search it,PCC in PC already has a lot of Bugs,they should redesign it :smileygrin:

Hi!

My SI number is different from the list...

I can flash the root and install the ICS and then, if problems occur, repose the original system from my operator.

Who knows the easy way to do this?

My phone used to constantly refocus in dim light conditions. Made my cat videos very... unstable

But I kinda fixed this. Check the video settings menu, under "Focus mode". I believe mine was either "Single auto focus" or "Face detection". Both these make it constantly lose focus when not in bright light conditions. But if you switch it to "Infinity" it should rely on the first focus - the one made when you press the record button.

So If your problem is the same as mine, i don't believe it's so much a software issue. Not one that can be fixed by updating firmware, anyway.

Try "Infinity" out, let me know if it's better.

I "saved" my original Orange Romania GB firmware, flashed the unbranded French ICS one and when an official update comes in Romania or I have to take the phone to the shop I'll reflash the Orange GB. I think this is what you want as well.

Don't say that. It's somehow a lot easier for Apple as everything is happening indoors. Their firmware/OS is their own, it only runs on one type/brand of phone - theirs, 3-4 models [iOS 6 works on iPhone 3?,4,4S and 5] and I'm not sure, but I believe the operator customization is close to/actually 0.

Here we all want JellyBean and KeyLimePie or whatever cause Google released it, but guess what? Google releases the code - which meeds to work on dozens of phone models from another dozens of brands so it must be generic. Then each brand customizes the update for every model they have and releases it to every operator. Every operator customizes the firmware and only then releases it [i recently found out this is the same for SIM-free phones]. All this done with intensive testing as rolling out a bad update will be marketing hell. So everyone, Sony included, prefer thousands of angry customers over thousands of customers who are left without a functioning phone.

So basically you need to multiply all these numbers and find out how many combinations there are - and all of them need to work.

If you want quickness try a Nexus device. These are made under Google specifications and are the only ones who get updated from Google directly with the latest Android.

If the Galaxy Nexus, that works great with 4.0.4, have the same processor... the only problem is the RAM on Xperia U!!!!

So ICS have a "big mouth" to eat ram... lol

No optimized system, just new system for new phones... better 2.3.7 on it!
