Xperia by default does not provide root permissions. Rooting you Xperia will lead to a void warranty. My recommendation is that you should never try to root your phone unless you are well versed with android.</P><P>Applications that do not need root permissions can be installed without any problem. You just need to select it with a file browser. Also try to use applications from Android Market.
