Connection problem

My Xperia x8 wouldn´t charge after 1 year of use so I had it serviced.

(Detail: 10 remaining days of warranty but service refuced to fix phone as connector was broken = sign of violent and 'bad' use. Ridiculous! With todays´s smartphones you´re supposed to use them as sound systems, appointment book, GPS, phone book, radio, youtube and what have you. Hence, you need to re-charge 2-3 times a day.)

Anyway, after it got back to service it wouldn´t connect to the computer anymore via USB. The computer simply doesn´t recognize it. And one more thing, when I download apps they all work correctly WITH ONE EXCEPTION. I use speedometer/radar warning and with GPS signal active it reads the location perfectly, i.e. shows location with street names etc. but the speedometer won´t work. I´ve tried 3 or 4 different apps for the same purpose with the same result. GPS reading works but speedometer doesn´t.

Has the speedometer been working before?

Could you clarify, did your get repaired or not?

Hi Johan

Yes, the speedometer worked like a dream. I was using it all daily as I have an old car and the speedometer doesn´t work.

And yes, the tecnician fixed the connector so now it charges and all other functions work except for the data transmission via USB. But via Bluetooth it works.
