Hi.

I'm using the Xperia Active as a bike computer and it's great so far, thanks to the ANT+ support, the barometric sensor and the water resistance.

The only thing missing vs the dedicated devices from competitors (except for more battery life for very long rides) is exposing the temperature data that is provided by the bmp180 pressure sensor already.

Does Sony plan to provide this additional sensor in the API? It would be a shame to have to root the phone to change permissions on a device and lose the warranty just to get this data out.

Thanks!

Did I understand it right that if you have your phone rooted you could read the temperature data? If so, is there already an application available which displays this sensor data?

I'd also be very interested to query the temperature with my Sony Xperia Active!

I am aAlso interested in Temperature if it was made avaliable. I have support for it in my app IpBike if the sensor was avaliable. I fall back to using the battery temperature with a user set calibration value. Best option for real external temperature is a Garmin Tempe external ANT+ sensor which I have added support for but that of course costs.
