No Update for my Xperia S - SI number is on the list

Hey Sony-Team!

I am a bit confused right now. My SI-number is on the list of released updates (1257-2734), but there is still no update notification neither in the phone nor via PC Companion, Xperia Update etc.

By the way, I'm from Germany and got a non-contract Phone (bought on Amazon just when it was released) with a Vodafone Prepaid Card.

Am I doing something wrong? Someone may help me?

Same problem as you, I found another way to get it on tweakers.net but that was in dutch, here is a english version of it I saw on the forum.

Hi All,

I have the same problem. My phone SI is in the list and PC Companion is teling me that my phone is up to date even I do not have ICS. I bought my phone from Bulgaria with contract to Vivacom.

Is the update ready for all phones with this SI numbers or only for specific countries?

Also ... is it safe to update the phone using the way mentioned above?

I'm facing the same problem. I'm from Germany, too and I've got the same SI-number and the update isn't available yet for my phone eiter.

In this thread http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/225856#225856 it says that it could be due to overloaded servers, but that doesn't really sound very likely to me...

Just wait for the update. It will released according to operator of your country. Because every country have diffrent operator so each version of ICS software is diffrently configure to suite the operator of your country. That the important about the SI number because it sort by Country so each ICS release diffrently.

Good point.

I was checking my SI version on the back of the phone like explained here: http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/42096 and my phone was first on the list: 1257-3741.

But checking from the service menu, gives me another customization version: 1257-4009 ... which I believe is the reason I'm not getting the update.

My SI-number is on the list of released updates too (1257-5063) but i cant find any update notification neither or the phone neither via pc companion. i ve also tried sus but nothing.. why is this happening?

It's very easy to update your phone with flashtool. Didn't have to root it at all.

Download ICS and flash you phone. Follow Uliwooly's walkthrough.

no there isn't the reason your SI number is on the list and you can't update as you can read on many many threads is that the servers are overloaded

Hey all,

I just got the Update notification today via PC Companion...

But now I'm not able to update in case of errors -.-

PC Companion tells me something about failed components and Sony Update Service doesnt even start.

Help me...

P.S.: I'm raging around my room... I just can't be patient any longer :smileygrin:

Finally my Xperia S runs on ICS. I have upgraded it today at 12:38. Everything is OK.
