Finally ICS update successfuly

I have just updated my phone sk17i.....there is no lag in it just like gb and it looks good...

will update further while using....

did you face these issues ?

camera quaility (not clear,hd videos recording not clear, thunbnails not clear etc.) ?
keyboard issues ? (qwerty keyboard change to azerty )
LED stop working for notifications, when screen is off ?

there is no such problem..led notifications is working good but in case of messages..it blinks only one time. no issue on facebook and calls notifications.

keyboard is working as before..speed is not so laggy only phone dialer is slow about of 1second as compared to gb...i suggest to use software update service..

i didnt notice camera quality as i think it is as before.

battery timing is low as compared to gb..

Updated yesterday . No problems like photo quality and slow working/ laggy dialer.

Maybe the first run of dialer or phonebook is a little slow, but the second and other runs are fast because it has the info stored in ram. The same story was in gingerbread but this is how the OS works and is normal. No drop in performance in my case after flashing it on ICS.

I have already checked all the posts before updating my phone. Now there is no such issue,keyboard is full qwerty and all the shift(Symbols) and capslock are working fine. Ill upload video soon...

Hello everyone!

It's now 6 months after the original post and, if that's not much trouble, I would like an update on the ICS upgrade. I've been using my Xperia mini pro for one week only and GB has been running so smoothly that I'm kind of reluctant to upgrade to ICS, since I've been reading mostly negative comments on it. On the other hand, I have to admit that version 2.3.4 lacks some basic features, such as contact view as you dial a number and not being able to visualize groups created in GMail. Yesterday, I plugged my mobile in my computer and PC Companion came up asking me to update and I almost did. But I've been so unlucky recently in terms of official updates (I've changed devices three times in 6-8 months due to update problems) that I really feel like ignoring such updates from now on. However, I wouldn't mind upgrading if these basic features started working on ICS (I know that because I've used GB 2.3.6 in another device and it worked alright).

So, should I really upgrade it?

UPDATE: I decided to go and update my Xperia Mini Pro (SK 17a) with ICS (4.0.4) and here's what I think so far. (It might as well help potential "skeptical" users like me :smileywink:):

1. I did not notice any lagging at all. Not a single lag in camera or scrolling up/down menus.

2. Camera quality did not drop as many have stated before.

3. I couldn't update using PC Companion, but followed other users' advice and successfully updated using SUS (Sony Update Service).

4. When updating, I did not follow the software's advice (it recommended installing ICS without "tinkering" with installed apps and phone memory-related stuff). Instead, I asked the software to do a factory reset as new OS was being installed.

5. Notification LED is, indeed, a problem and stopped working for SMS, missed calls, etc. It only works when battery is low / recharging phone (red) and when battery is almost fully charged (green).

6. Considering mine is a brand new phone, I don't have excellent comparative standards. On the other hand, I made sure to test almost everything I would use day by day (apps, camera, wi fi, roaming, 3G, calls, SMS, bluetooth, music, etc...) BEFORE updating. Everything perfectly works.

7. Battery use is absolutely the same for me (between 1,5 and 2 days BEFORE and AFTER ICS).

8. The new features are fantastic, I thought GB lacked contact-related features, selecting and sending e-mails to GROUPS, etc. ICS made it all right.

9. I'll be waiting for some kind of patch / update regarding the infamous LED problem. I wouldn't install any third-party software as this is a bug in this ICS version.

I'm sorry for the giant post, but I think it's relevant and would help anyone who would be afraid of updating their brand new phones.
