Probleme to insert micro SIM in its tray

Hello everyone,

I've just bought a new Xperia P red phone, and asked to my provider a micro SIM.

I can insert it in its tray, but it can't stay in it. It seems there is a spring which push it back. And the cover can't hold it, it's too hard for it.

Does anyone have the same problem ?

Or there is anything to do to insert the micro SIM in this phone ?

I try with 2 different micro SIM.

You should be able to hear a clicking sound when the SIM holder grips the micro SIM card. You need to press it all the way in, use a pencil gently to push the SIM card in.

Hi. i got my xperia P yesterday and i am having the exact same problem. the micro sim just bounces back. Can i take it back to my service provider and get a other phone?

I contact Sony about this, and they don't want to replace my phone with a new one, or send it to be repaired. For your information, I bought my phone on the Sony mobile website store.

The only thing they propose me, it's to bring my phone to a certified repairer who will fix my phone.

BUT, after discussing with the guy in the shop, it told me he can't fix it, because the tray is attached to the motherboard. So he will send the phone to Sony to fix it... Finally the phone will be sent to Sony anyway, but in this case, I will have my phone in 2 to 3 weeks!

Maybe I will able to use my phone 1 month after buying it.
Thank you Sony for making everything easier and aware of your customer problems...

What happened then i too got the same problem and when i gave to sony service center they were asking 80% of mobile cost .I got this problem next day i bought xperia P . Pls help me

Do you reside in India, initally i also faced the same problem, when i used self cutted micro sim , it was not able to stay inside. then i replced my sim with micro sim from airtel, and it is staying inside perfectly.

try to get a new micro sim from airtel/ vodafone etc. flagship stores, not thorugh franchises or local shop.

make sure the sim is inserted with logo upwad and wedged part towards upper side, push the SIM all the way in , just like you inset hot-swappable micro SD card.

if SIM is smaller, then it would keep on bouncing back.

There can be manufacturing defect too, i dont rule out that, but consider my point too, mybe your problem gets solved

Can you post a video of yours inserting micro sim, so that others/ moderators can understand, the exact nature of problem.

Guyz.. there is no issue with the sim card slot.. its bcoz of the incorrect way you insert it..

First make sure that the micro sim (if you had it cut from a local store) is of the standard size.

If yes, keeping the cut side to the left and the golden side downwards, insert the sim into the slot (cut side goes in first).

Slowly, push it all the way in using a pencil until you hear a click sound/lock sound.
