i own an SE cedar, and i recently downloaded the hanashi messenger off PlayNow. when i started the app, it asked for my phone number, which i provided. when i pressed continue, it said it was unable to send the message and asked me to check my sms settings, coverage or balance. i am able to send smses, coverage is good and i do have balance. i deleted the app and downloaded it again, but the same problem persists. what could be the problem? thanks in advance.

Hello sugandhi

Contrary to SMS service that uses your normal call network connection, the Hanashi Messenger uses your existing Internet connection to send and receive messages.

So you must have an active Internet connection to use it (WiFi or data plan).

If You do have an active connection then check Your SMS settings

Go to Settings> Connectivity>message settings> multim. Messages> select existing profile or create a new one.

You will need to contact your service carrier to inquire about the "multimedia Message server address"

Hope this helps.

Francis.

thanks for the reply, francis. yes, i do have an active data plan, and i constantly use it for browsing the web and stuff like that. i have tried what you suggested, but to no avail. one of my friends owns an SE naite and has reported the same problem. she also has an active data plan, but the messenger refuses to work for some reason. what can be the problem here?
