Well I did update it a few days ago (didn't help unfortunately) ... So when I connect the phone to the computer the pc companion says, "your phone is up to date", so I clicked it, and it asks, if I want to repair it, so I agreed, but it said it will erase all my data (when I updated it, it didn't erase enything) ... and I would reluctantly except that, if that guaranteed my probles will be fixed ... So because I have some very important info on my xperia u, I want to use this only as a last resort (or is there any way to store your call history, contacts and messages on your computer?)

About ten days ago I bought the xperia u, and it's great (only issues I have are android's foults, not sony's). But when I tried to connect it to my home wifi, (while the phone was usb connected to the lap top which was working perfectly well and had a very strong wifi connection) it wouldn't pick it up, as if there was no wifi (but like I said there was one, and a very strong one - modem is 5 feet away) -> and it coudn't have been the modem's foult, it's wifi works perfectly well on iphones, my brother's cheap lg android phone, my dad's nokia, my cousin's nokia, I even easily connected an old pda device to it ... The strange thing is, it easily finds a much weaker connection from my neighbour - one that even my lap top has problems getting.

That's what happened three days after I bought it, but then miraculasly started working fine, it just easily connected, as it allways shoud have ... and I changed nothing, not to the phone, not to the modem ...

So for a few days it worked fine, even better than that ... untill 2 days ago, when the wifi was down, I had my lap top and the xperia u connected to the wifi, but after I rebutted the modem, only the lap top managed to find the wifi, same old story with the phone, still can't find it, no matter what, tried rebutting the phone and the moden - nothing happens

Thanks for the help in advance, I really need the wifi, because I have a very limited data transfer (like 10 mb or something)

Sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing. Have you tried repairing the software in your phone? If not, you should try it. If it still doesn't work even after an update, there might be some issues with the wifi-antenna in the phone. So, try updating and get back to me with the results

PC Companion/Bridge for mac: http://www.sonymobile.com/update

Well, in order to try resolving this issue you need to do the repair. There are several softwares on Play Store which makes it possible to make a backup, for example MyBackup.

Well I stored all info on the sony pc companion and repaired the sistem ... it didn't work, and took me about 3 hours and several weeks of my life for the pc companion to give me back my stored info. But then magically the wifi started working, I was at my aunt's house, but when I came home, it worked at home as well! And it worked superb (as it always should) for about a week. Then yesterday it failed to pick up my modem's wifi, When I went to eat out today it didn't pick up the free wifi that the restaurant had, two of my friends phone's found it and connected with no problem. But my xperia u did find some protected week wifi from the neighbourhood. Right now It can't find the wifi I'm using to post this on my lap top. It seems like it workes every 3rd - 4th time I reboot the modem. So it's not a problem with the antenna and because I have the latest version it's not the software either. It just seems to hate me, that's the only reasonable explanation I can come up with
