Please could somebody reply to me asap. I just bought an xperia sola last saturday and it is fine except for the very weak signal. It can't detect 3g, hsdpa or edge signals(No icons showing on the status bar) My previous phone, galaxy ace can detect those signals. The signal on my phone do not dropped all of a sudden in contrast to the problem on the other post where the signal dropped completely all of a sudden. I want to know if this is just sofware related or have I bought a defected phone. I need to know it immediately as I only have today to replace my unit. My sola is running in an old firmware 6.0.B.1.564

I tried to use other sim from other mobile networks and it detected hsdpa and edge but it dissappeared immediately. That was the only time I saw the hsdpa icon since I bought the unit.

Is my problem really different from the network lost from other people using the sola? I wish it is not as I am still a college student and it will be a hassle for me to go back to the shop where I bought my phone.

try if u can visit a service centre. the .162 update did cause me initial hiccups but not now .. best bet is to visit a service centre who will do a reset and give a fresh update

So do you think it is just software not hardware defect?

Is there any other settings to configure aside from the settings seen on the mobile network settings? Maybe, it could be the cause of the problem

Admax, the seller where I bought my phone gave me a new unit(red) but I gave it back again as the problem of not detecting edge, 3g and hsdpa is still there. They are both running on the same firmware.

Also, in the status(settings) Mobile network state: disconnected

Is that normal even if I already enabled data on the settings?

i believe you have almost the same problem as me.. same firmware used. but mine can still detect 3g but sometimes its a little bit diffucult to do so.. the 3g icon will apear for a few seconds then dissapear and reapear.. i will need to wait for like a few times for this to happen then it only it will have a stalbe connection..could be hardware problem as i had tried repairing and data reset but still have this problem

Me too having same problem of Internet disconnecting and reconnecting on its own. Its frustrating!!!!!

Also I tried to update the firmware to 6.0.B.3.184 but my pc companion says my phone already has latest software though I have 6.0.B.1.564.

Any help???? plzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I have also faced similar problems the phone sucks in many basic things and they also lag the usp dont ever try to hard test the phone except for the water and dust resistancy(IP57 certified so is kind off good) u may lose it if u do any other testing
