Xperia S ICS features Missing

Hi Sony Support,

We are really upset on the update which misses the core features of ICS. Still its getting rolling to many country almost 4 days gone.

Native 3G VIDEO CALL.- why we have a front camera where we cant use it for video call. Its not fair

WIFI-DIRECT- The most welcomed features. Thought its being the highend smart phone we already misses the 4.0 bluetooth which the board can support but atleast the WIFI capable direct transfer technology which most company including samsung incorporated even in GB phone and adding to these the white paper reveales that its has the technology in buit. But why its not implemented in the latest build.

Camera : Burst Mode. Many low end smartphones has that features. Why we dont have that feature. its really a pain that having spent on high end phone lacks basic functionality where a mediocre devices can perform the same functionality at a fraction of price.

I am not pin pointing or complaining. I am just esclating to the right department to notify that these core features which are missing in the XS.

Please take it as a feedback and do the needfull to the owners of XS.

Native video call it is NOT supported by Android (nor iOS, windows mobile 7, 7.5 or 😎

Burst Mode, I agree, I've been asking for one since the 2010 Xperias

there's an app on th emarket but it's not the same

Who said Native video call not supported . I mean its a built in Dialer funcitonality, which uses the front camera. Then being a 3g phone only support internet video chat is not acceptable. The network supports 3g calls though its not cost effective but it has to be built in the phone.

What about the WIFI-Direct its natively supported but not there i can see most of ics customization in GB but the core hardware welcomed feature not in ICS really bad.

Android DOES NOT support native video call, it does support Skype, Gtalk, tango, qik etc but you need a data plan and/or wifi

Fine android native support is not there. But can the dialer app be modified to support 3g call. its a welcomed feature when most critical situation we can use this functionality.

Also NFC multibrand compactibility. I am not sure it can be as each mfg uses their own code to read tags

But fine is it possible alteast for the following

NFC bluetooth pairing and connecting

NFC wifi handover for easy file sharing.

the OS doesn't support this, if it was that simple you could download an app from the market to do just that

I am not sure if you understand this. I have seen numerous devices using this features including S2,S3 note , wave 3 , etc

have you tried other NFC tags? that's kind of the purpose to use NFC so it's not limit by a brand

NFC bluetooth? NFC wifi? you might want to check the market, but why limit yourself to such a slow connection

NFC can be used for file sharing, it's called google beam,

I'm not sure that you understand this, native video call it is NOT supported by Android Operating System, samsung added this to the S2 and S3 in selected markets, it is NOT supported by Android, some users had requested this for a LONG time since the first Xperias, but It hasn't being implemented and most likely it wont, the quality it's too low and again it's limit to certain markets, the focus of Sony is the US at least that's what they said last year and no one use that here at all it's all about HD video calls not over pixelated low quality video

If an app have to do that. We need SU right for which the phone needs to be rooted as this will result in voiding warranty.

Dont Mistake First the Yellow tint Issue. Then lack of basic functionality and still not justified. People know what can and cant be done. OS is just a base but lot of apps are written on top of it to utilize the full functionality

If a third party app can take control of camera why not same dialer in built app can take care. I seen 3g video call in GB os devices and test it works as expected. Not sure if this was missed or assumed that os not supporting this feature but dialler app modification needs su access which is not possible.

ok i got it but what if 4g network is implement still you say its pixelated. Even so give us the feature its upto the user to continue use or not. Just a part of the call app. We take it and not get back to you if the quality is low. I have used 3g in normal nokia phones its not bad its ok. They are still working each technology has it own growth phase let give them enough time to graduate

But please take this into consideration for the next update we take it as it is . As the quality will fall to network operators not sony

lol 4G networks won't do it, the whole point of 4G it's a FAST DATA CONNECTION, as I said, this has being requested since 2010 but Sony hasn't and most likely won't add this

Any update on WIFI-Direct please update users updated the firmware to 4.04. No update for next 8 months down the line.

it doesn't have it, not all androids running 4.0 have this wifi-direct

I agree with the fact that the camera app is really not upto the mark.. xperia s has a really good camera but with such a software its not been utilized properly..

plus thats really stupid thing that in message app we cant delete multiple messages in the same thread... what more worse can be than this...

Having no WiFi direct does blow. I was hoping I could connect my phone to my tv but I guess not.
