Almost all photographs taken on the Xperia S with the flash and automatic white balance are unusable as they come out very yellow making people look extremely ill! I have to force the white balance to "Flourecent" when I am using the flash but when using Auto-Flash you can't be sure if it is going to be used or not. There should be a way of setting the camera to use auto-white balance when the flash is not in use but force the white balance when the flash is in use (as the lighting conditions are known to a degree).

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum!

When you use the auto flash in the Xperia S it's sometimes hard for the camera to valuate all the factors in the environment you're in for the moment and it has to focus on one of them.

There for sometimes the white balance will also have a hard time handling the environment and flash.

We're also hoping for a wider range of settings in the camera function in the future, and hopefully some update will provide that!

What do you think about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

Thanks,

While I understand what you are saying the majority of the time the flash is used the lighting conditions are known (the flash is providing the lighting!). Especially if you take into consideration information such as focus distance and face detection.

I would say that almost all close (3/4 body or closer) photos of people photographed with flash enabled and auto-white balance are unusable as they come out very yellow.
