Hi,

I am facing this issue from past few weeks. First time I noticed that my phone is heating up very fast when I was playing Angry Birds Space, after few days I uninstalled it fearing my phone my blow as its reaching high temps.

Next time I noticed I was watching Live tv through 3G and within 5 minutes it started heating up. I turned off the BRAVIA engine and on to see if there is any difference and to my vain there is no change.

I went to Sony support center as my phone freezed and I didnt know how to come out of it. I tried pressing the power button for few secs and it did nothing, later at the support center I learned we have to press power button and press volume button to restart or shut down the phone. Anyway I informed the tech person about the heating problem and he informed to update the software and I allowed him to update the software to see if it makes any difference.

Now after owning this phone for 1 month, I understood whenever I am browsing, downloading or watching tv through 3G the phone is heating up.

Can anyone help me with this problem and by the way I dont have the yellow tint which few people have experienced.

Thank in advance.

The Xperia S will heat up and become warm when using app's, games or watching live clips. There is nothing wrong about that. The question is how warm does it get? It should not become hot.

Yes, my Xperia S is heating up as well, when using apps, games/watching live clips. However as per support team, it just doesnt get warm, but gets a little hot, at times which makes it difficult to hold it on your palm. Not sure how to have this fixed though.

Download circle battery widget. You can get it for free thru google play. Add the widget on your home screen then click on it. It will bring you to the app screen and from there click on the text "battery" it will then show you the battery info and the temperature will be shown. Check that when you feel it "heats up" and tell us how high.

To be honest every phone heats up depending how you use it and what apps you run.

If the temperature goes beyond 50 c then I suggest you double check what apps you've installed. And just to let you know the phone heats up too depending on what environment youre in.

Normal temperaturemy phone usually sit at is around 20-32 c without using it. Usually goes to 38c when I'm browsing and stuff. 40-43 depending on the environment. Like sitting inside a car with closed windows on a sunny day. Never tried going beyond 50c with normal use.

I installed battrey saver which tells the temperature of phone. I have seen it going till 45 C, which i guess is pretty high. Also the game starts lagging once the temperature rises. Support team, please let me know if i should go to the service center.

Whenever I touches the home key it produces a creaking sounds which I thought is normal to all xperia phones. But when I inspect other phones, their Home key, as well as the Back and Menu Key is intact in the screen which produces a smooth touching experience.. Though it doesn't have a bad effect/malfunctions to my phone but it is still different with the standard xperia S phones. And I/we don't know if this will not be my problem in the future.

Another thing,my phone sometimes easily heats up even im just texting or calling which is not normal. Why? I'm bothered with this.

I salute the sony phones due to its high quality, trusted brands and its known care/due diligence in manufacturing phones, that's why I bought this xperia. In fact many of my colleagues wants to have the same phone as mine, but I don't want to end this with this kind of experience.

Question: Due to the fact that my xperia S was bought last December 4, 2012 in Saudi Arabia and the terms and conditions explicitly states that "This warranty is valid only in Saudi Arabia at MECL Service Center" can I still have a replacement as a remedy for this? If none, what should I gonna do? I really value my Sony Xperia S and I don't want to be dismayed by this kind of experience..

Thank you for your usual assistance and cooperation.

Thanks and regards,

MJSD
