Hi,

In the last month I have opted to try the Xperia S, to my dismay the battery life is chronic and I have read several posts that will hopefully resolve the issue including firmware.73 which still hasn't been released on O2.

One thing I have noticed though is that the phone can be sitting idle then suddenly turn on for a brief second and then off again, it will do this several times (upto 10) then idle again. I have tried turning all of the running apps of etc etc and even put it into airplane mode but it still does it. strangely some days it will do it constantly and another I dont notice it happening but it is becoming very frustrating.

Could this be one of the reasons why the battery keeps failing?

Is this a software issue or is it the handset?

Hope you can help.

Cheers

Have you tried resetting the phone? This can be done the following way:

[Menu] > [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Factory data reset].

Yes, doing so will wipe your phone's internal memory including the settings.

However these settings can be backed up by doing the following:

[Menu] > [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Back up my data] > [Tick]

I'd then give it around 10 mins to perform the backup before hitting the Factory Data Reset option.

if you don't use an original micro sim card , i advise you to buy it.Because if your sim card didn't cut properly , your device can make restart.
