hi there,

i have a brand-new x10 mini that appears to be stuck in a loop. it boots up fine until i get the "data traffic enabled" message in the notification bar and then the phone freezes. sometimes the time continues to update normally but the phone is completely unresponsive, sometimes the phone restarts itself.

if i press the power button and the centre button, the phone reboots but gets stuck in the same cycle.

i have installed the companion software and the phone is detected but cannot connect ...

i have also tried another 02 sim (the phone is locked to o2) without success.

is there anyway to do a hard reset ?

thanks in advance

Try this:

1. switch phone off.

2. remove the battery

3. wait 15-30 seconds

4. replace battery

5. start phone up again.

See if that helps. If it does not, cobntact the SE Customer Service Centre.

Have you tried doing a repair with Sony Ericsson Update Service, different software package than PC Companion? It should give you an indication of whether there is any software update available to you, and if your are upto date but still having problems give you the option to re-install the software. It will overwrite all your info but as you can't get into the phone anyway it may be your only option.

Run the "Sony Ericsson Update Service" Program, and follow the Instruction until the last screen.
Plug the USB cable and press the power button and the center button, After the phone shut down, Press and hold the back-button until The "Sony Ericsson Update Service" sense the Phone. Release the button and it will update your Phone (Hopefully to a Firmware without Stuck Screen).
Or you can wait until the battery drain out, And Update your Phone Normally.

You guys are pure geniuses. There is a small groove that you can lift the cover off of, and the battery is inside.....
