Update problems

I currently have a Xperia X10 which I am trying to update the software on. I have downloaded PC Companion and it is telling me that there is an update available for my phone. I says that my phone software currently is version R2BA020 and the new version available is 3.0.1.G.075 but when I follow the steps and start the software update it just comes up with "Installation Error: Unable to install or start phone software update components"

Has anyone got any suggestions, coz I am about to launch the damn phone out the window. It is driving me insane,

Desperatley need to update so that my phone can support my banking app!!

Help!!

are you aware that's Android 2.1 and not 2.3.3?

if you want 2.3.3 it seems that your network is not releasing it so if you want to manually install it this is how

you will lose the backup & restore app with 2.3.3

That error is mostly caused by firewalls or security programs blocking PCC from downloading and installing required components. Check your firewall and security program settings and try again.
