Sim Card Error

Hi,

I have hand my phone about 6 days and on the 5th day I was talking to someone and it cut off. I looked at the phone and it said "No Sim", I thought this odd but as I am in a low reception area I thought it was due to that (naive I know). I eventually took off the cover and battery and it worked for about two hours before it happening again when I was talking. Yet again I took off the cover, removed the battery and checked the sim was in place - which it was. It hasn't done it again but it hasn't been 24 hours. It has also taken three goes to actually ring someone and I charged it fully last night and now it is down to 37% battery. Is my phone faulty? Should I take it back to where I purchased it?

the battery will drain faster in areas with poor or low coverage. How old is your SIM card?

go to settings -> sony ericsson -> internet settings (to make sure you have the correct APN Settings)

I have had the sim card the same time. I changed providers and bought a new phone the day before I changed.

I only live in a poor reception area - it was 100% before I went to bed, got to work at 9am and it was 37% and we have full reception here. Now is 15% telling me to put on charge. I would but I don't have it at work.

I have just tried to check APN settings....it said this may cost additional charges, accept or decline, I accepted and then nothing.

Also I haven't talked or used any data since charging it. I have received exactly 3 texts and had two alarms go off. Each I dismissed after two rings.

go to settings -> about phone -> battery use -> take a screenshot and then take a screenshot of the graph and also tap on each item on the list and write down how many hours/minutes they have been running

there's nothing wrong with your battery life, 16hrs+ that's great for a smartphone. the average smartphone's battery is 12hours. you can always improve your battery life by turning off wifi, data/3G, bluetooh.

Well I was actually more worried about the phone saying that the sim card suddenly doesn't exist. I want to know if this is a common thing with this phone, a fault or just a one off and to play by ear so to speak.
