ICS update Tethering problem and data usage in general

Hi,

i just updated to ICS and my tethering through wifi and usb got damaged i connect to the pc but it wont let me surf the web, i had gingerbread and until last night it worked perfectly and now I cannot use it anymore why???

Plz i need an answer fast cause iit's the main reason for the phone.

Another thing, i used also the Moxier Pro app for exchange email to contact through the email at work, but now it wont work as well my email thorugh hotmail, which also worked, and nothing.

Plz help

In addition to Uliwooly's post above, I'd also suggest ensuring you have the full access Internet settings installed on the handset since you updated. You can check these with your service provider

Like I said it worked fine before the update all perfect, I could use office email (moxier PRO) from the phone and tethering for the laptop.

I tried it also last night and nothing, not even hotmail.

What is PCC and SUS?? how do i run it?? i runned also PC Companion and repair the phone it erase all my contacts and everything like for 1st use but nothing it doesn't work.

Help plz

on your phone open the browser -> go to: time.gov

does the website work? if it doesn't the you don't have internet accces.

It works perfectly, browser, gmail, facebook, whatsapp, viber but tethering throug usb nor wif doesnt work last noght i also found out that bluetooth aint working eaither, it doesn send nor recieve pictures with android 4.0.4 an all this things worked perfectly with android2.3.

Plz an update to fix thing cause i also read that people with xperia ray and other phone when they updated have the same issues.

I confirm that wifi/usb/bluetooth tethering is broken on the new ICS update for the SK17i.

I think it is the only and incredibly annoying bug that I noticed because I mainly use my sk17i to make a hotspot for my laptop and tablet.

I confirm that Internet connectivity is working fine from the phone, I browse the web, access google play and google talk as usual, so this is typically a problem limited to tethering.

When I use wifi tethering with or without encryption, the computer connects to the phone but does not have internet connectivity. This is extremely annoying.

Is there a workaround?

I found out something weird. If you connect your phone to any WiFi network and then tether vía USB or Bluetooth, it works! It doesn't work only with 3G tethering...

I mean

Internet -> Wifi Router -> Phone -> Bluetooth/USB -> Device Works OK!!

Internet -> 3G network -> Phone -> Bluetooth/USB/WiFi -> Device Not working!!

As other people, via 3G I can access all internet sites perfectly.

Hi all,

I have same problem with WiFi tethering !

I'm using Xperia mini pro with Android 4.0.4 and currently facing difficulties with WiFi tethering. Sometimes it suddenly disconnected and sometimes it connected but not accessing to internet. I have to disconnect & reconnect my wireless connection and also turn Tethering Off and On again to fix this. Before when I'm on the Gingerbread, it worked well wothout any problems.

I did a Factore reset but problem still there. And there is significant down of internet speed of Wi-Fi tethering when comparing to Gingerbred.

Any ideas pls....?

I have exactly the same behavior you are describing. I think is maybe the APN from T-Mobile, as you know T-Mobile doesn't allow using tethering unless you pay for it. I have the same problem on my Active and in my Mini, my provider is Movistar (i'm from Venezuela). Under gigerbread everything worked just fine.
