Cannot wirelessly connect with Windows 7 tablet, mtp ip driver issue

Hi, I am having an issue connecting my new Sony Xperia S smartphone wirelessly to my tablet PC running Windows 7 starter edition using PC companion. Specfically the mtp ip driver does not install correctly (shows with yellow exclamtion mark in control panel). It works fine when connected via USB and also works fine with my desktop PC. But that is running Win 7 64 bit. Is this a windows 7 starter edition issue, and is there a fix?

When you connect via USB, are you using the MTP mode or MSC mode? If the MTP mode works via USB it should also work wireless.

Go to Settings > Apps > Manage apps > MtpApp > Clear data.

Try again after this and let me know.

Hello, I was using MTP, but the driver did not install fully.

Several windows updates later and all is resolved. Thanks.
