Auto-brightness

Hy guys I`m new to this forum.First off all i want to salute the moderators and all the people.

In the past i had a sony ericsson k800i for 5 years...works great - no problemos had in the past -- great phone but since we have to stay in touch with the tehnology i bought also an sony ericsson phone - the xperia active.

I`m relative new to android but every day i discover new things that i could personalize and other thing not.

Question 1 > One thing i don`t know yet is how to disable auto-brightness. The sensor is very good but i want to disable wwithot rooting my phone...

Question 2 > Rooting the phone !? - is indicated or not indicated. The warrantyof the phone may dissapear ? It saves battery ?

Answer 1 - sorry but not possible without rooting

answr 2 Its your own choice, warranty may get void, there is no change in battery

However if you remove bloatware and few system apps that run all the time consuming battery then ofcourse it will increase your battery backup

Thanks for the response.

I searched the market and i dicovered an application that permits to change the brightness of the phone and not let the screen go bellow a value that is at your choice. If someone is interested the application is called Brighteriffic.
