I read this elsewhere on the forum. Date & time are correct, I also retried it after setting the date a few months earlier but the problem remains the same.

And yes, it is a pre-installed version - there is also a lock symbol in the "applications" menu.

My phone has the R5AA032 firmware for a couple of months by now. The other phone has the newer R5AA035 firmware but also for this phone I have the same error message.

The other internet apps work fine, i.e. youtube, facebook, etc.

Have you tried updating/re-installing the software, or resetting the phone? If you have, it might be worth trying once again, as in theory, the Opera application should be re-installed in its original version.

Hope this helps.

Well what I meant was, that re-installing the software would include re-installing Opera, so I would suggest you try re-installing it again--I don't know why you're getting that message; perhaps a problem with the PC, so you could try using a different PC and see if that helps.Otherwise, you can try a master reset.

I'd run update service on the phone, but it doesn't help.

I'd turn all the settings to default in Java settings and in Internet settings. Nothing helps!

Download from the official site for the opera mobile phone, you go into the jar archive in the folder META.inf and edit source files manifest.mf with any text editor.

What is to fix? All the words of one OPERA remove any letter (some do not work, then deliberately change letters: write Opera vs Opira).

Throws to the phone memory in any way.

Runs for the installation *. Jar file. Phone asks whether to install OPRA, for example.

In your applications menu appears OPRA, a startup - normal OPERA.

try different versions.

sorry for my broken English. information was taken from http://forum.china-iphone.ru/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8428

Thank you very much for the response everybody!

I FOUND THE SOLUTION!

As a matter of fact it was not me but the phone itself that (probably) found a solution.

Today I tried it once again on the phone with the R5AA032 and... it works! (?)

I also tried it on the phone with the newer R5AA35 firmware and... it works too! (?)

I really didn't change any settings, nor in the phone, nor in my wi-fi router : nothing!!!

So the problem solved itself after 2 months... I really don't know why, but who cares : it works and that is the most important!
