Yes, I tried it through the phones menu, and after that did not work I did it using PC Companion update service.

Also, whenever I launch the compass app, the screen goes black for a few seconds and then the phone restarts. I don't know if these functions have something to do with one another...?

Based on the fact that the Service menu states that this function is not even supported, and that the repair and reset didn't help, this could be a hardware issue, so you would need to take it in to a repair centre. However, someone else on this forum may have another solution.

Yes it could be, but if a software repair and a reset don't fix it permanently, then you may need a service engineer to have a look at it anyway.

Well, however last night I got JB update and i was hopeful the issue would be resolved after update. But it's a waste. The performance increased greatly but the roatation issue still persist. I guess we'll need to leave with it.

@SonyModerators < I hope you are listening to this. I've noticed it while I was tryin' to play some games.

I've checked my rotation settings and it's on. Is there any way to solve this problem without claimin' a warranty?
