Backup Everything

I've just carried out a repair on my phone, followed by a restore using PC Companion.

I'm disappointed to see that folders I'd made and the screen layouts, custom ringtones for people etc aren't also restored.

Is there an app availiable that will backup EVERYTHING on my phone and restore EVERYTHING, including custom folders contact ringtones etc ?

custom folders for ringtones shouldn't be deleted, since updating your phone doesn't affect the SD card at all

there are 2 options

1) root your phone and use titanium backup (I don't recomend this option since it's complicated to root the Xperia S)

2) use this method(s)

I mean the custom folders and layout on my homescreen. And the links to custom ringtones within my contacts.

no there's no way to backup that, unless you root and you use a third party app, this is not an iphone even iphones can't backup a customized homescreen because you can't customized your homescreen

What about settings ? SPCC is supposed to backup settings ? Yet all my NFC settings have gone.

It needs something equivalent to a diskimage on a PC.

I have had this ticked every time I've used SPCC and it definetly doesn't backup NFC settings.

Hi there

I know I'm in the wrong thread and potentially in the wrong discussion entirely but I'm new here and utterly ill from the sub-standard software from SOny for my Xperia S. I repaired my phone last night and used PCC to backup everything on my phone (prior to reading that everything should be backed up online). WHen I went to restore page PCC just crashed, crashed and continues to 'programme not responding' and crash. As I said, I am ill as I've lost everything it would seem and yet the backup file is safe and sound on my hard drive. I'm mostly wanting my calender back. Everything else is lying around somewhere either sync'd online or music is on my hard drive.

Please help! I'd really appreciate it and your compassion with my wrong threading, I am exhuasted and upset!

Try reinstalling PC Companion.

Also were you using google calender. If so it should sync automatically. If you weren't I'd start using it.

HI thanks for the reply

I've reinstalled the oldest version of PCC and the new versions probably over 10 times now. It just keeps crashing the second I press 'restore'.
