Touch gets stuck

Hi,

I have been observing my Xperia Active touch since a week now. The problem goes like this. Every day at least for some hours i face this issue of touch not responding properly. e.g. Whenver i am texting, be it Twitter, or messaging or even a dail pad, i have to press key twice. Alphabates don't come easily. I am using built-in International Qwerty Keyboard. It becomes very difficult to deal with it. Even swiping the word wouldn't help and all letters are not captured. Initially i ignored it thinking it would be some slowing-down issue but then it started happening every day at least for some hours. I have tried all the possiibilities, i have stopped some of the Running Processes, i even have done Service Tests to check whether there is any break while touching but it looks fine. It persists for some time and then automatically after some time, it goes away. I don't know the reason behind this. Honeslty, i like the touch sensitivity of this phone a lot, it's better than expected but now this problem is iritating me. After somehow convicing myself over a battery drain issue http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/191574#191574, i have got this new problem. My faith in Sony is already hurt and am losing my confidence in this brand. Any help on this Super Users?

I don't know if I have get it right but I have also had some problems like that.

Then I found out that it was my fingertips that were to "dry". When I moisture them or when I'm a bit "swetty" it is no problem.

Or do you think your problem is more in the "software-area"?

Dear Crille68, thanks for your swift response. I don't know yet if it's related to Software or not , but i don't think it would be finngertip related issue as Xperia Active works well with any capacitive touch. It should work with Dry, Wet or even in water as they show in advertisements 🙂

When this happens I would advise immediately checking:

Main menu > Settings Applications > Running Services > Check if there is anything that is spiking in usage more than normal.

What are your thoughts about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

Sam, i have checked that. I did not find any running services spiking up. But yes, just now i figured out why that is happening. It actually happens whenver i am outside i.e. under sunlight. I a observing this since the time i have launched compaint, as soon as i go outside under the bright sunlight and open my twitter or messaging or dialpad (overall), touch stops responding. Then i have to put my mobile aside for an hour or so and it autmotically starts behaving normally. Takin mobile to shadowy place immediately after this problem doesn't help. It is very irritating. I can't type anything. I can't scroll my contacts. While scrolling through pages, becuase of uneven touch, the application starts up unnecessarily. It's damn annoying. While opening lock, i have slide twice/thrice.

I also have experience drastic drain in battery again, i am going to update that thread right away.

Overall, this is my bad experience with Sony. I was better off with my old, stable and cheaper LG Optimus P500.

Let me know if you experts have any solution on this. Or else, what more i can do? You'll have one more unsatisfied customer

MORE BAD NEWS.. It's now happening continuously. Since noon the touch isn't stable..
