Facing problem with Soft keys ? Need help

Hi everyone,

I'm using Xperia Mini for the past 1month & sometime I'm facing a problem with my soft keys ( Back & Settings touch keys ), which is automatically working. I cannot able to open any Application, it automatically comes back to home screen (Back key keeps on Vibrating) .. Does anyone facing this problem & wat's the solution ?

hi @devaruban i'm also using XPERIA mini haven't got this issue if you your using haptic feedback then I would recommend you to change the setting of haptic feedback for this go to setting>sound>scroll down a uncheck the haptic feedback.....and see whether the issue stops...... don't forget to mark my answer correct and helpful...

Hey i also have same problem with the mobile. Mine is Xperia Mini Pro white and sometimes, the soft keys are pressed automatically, and im not able to navigate at all.

First my vibration for soft key option was disabled and so i was not able to understand its because of soft keys. Afterwards, when i resetted the settings, i found that the phone was vibrating when the problem occured. So the conclusion is that the soft keys are getting pressed automatically.

@sanatam: I dont know if it will solve because initially my phone, that option was disabled and i had the problem then i resetted the entire settings and found that the phone was vibrating.

Anyways ill try that if the issue gets resolved, will inform back...

Im having this mobile for the past 3.5 months, i didnt got any problem, but suddenly im getting this problem. I have updated my software atleast 2 times after i bought the mobile. Dont know if update is a problem or something else...

I disabled haptic feedback, but still its not solved. I guess the softkeys are getting pressed against something. Sony ericsson service center is also a bit far from my home.

The worst thing that i had was, i had a pattern to unlock my mobile and since the keys are getting pressed constantly, before i could finish the pattern, the prompt entered with a wrong pattern. Many times i had to try it out inorder to unlock my mobile.

Yes Sriram, the same kind of problems happened to me. Me too went to service centre & they recommended me to re-install the software. After that it works fine until now, but I'm not sure whether i'l get the same problem again.

So what will be the permanant solution for this problem ??

What do you mean by "re-install" software? Setting-->Privacy-->Factory data reset or Settings Reset??

@sriramAS and @devaruban...repair your phone with SEUS here's the link download it and install it on your pc and go through the process... http://dl-www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1309763183/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.7.13.exe *please note this will delete all your user data on phone except sd card and sim

and keep me update with after repairing with this software... and don't forget to mark my answer as correct and helpful

connect ur mobile to pc companion and press software update it prompts for software repair accept it before doing that backup ur data to memory card

That is indeed the way to go. If it won't solve the issue though, the phone must be examined and repaired at a service center.

I re-installed the OS in my mobile using the Sony Ericsson Updater. It downloaded the OS and installed in my mobile.

But, the problem persists

mmm....do you use any mobile cover or pouch something like that?? but as mentioned by @devaruban it seems after the re installation of os his issue has gone so I suggested that repair!! and your also using the latest firmware..and i'm also using mini haven't got this issue!! Hi I am facing problems with my soft keys on my Xperia p since I updated software, soft keys pressing automatically and it's really hard for me to use handset

& photos are invisible in albums phone is too slow
Kindly help to get rid of this problems

The right soft key is not at all working n home key and left soft key partly working
