help - ray - led notification light ?

ive just got the phone an love it. However, my lights aren't working and i can't find the settings to switch them on ?

ive come from n.kia which had a really clear light that flashed. ive already missed 3 messages and 2 calls..not good when you work for yourself..

hope someone can help, as ive trawlled the internet with no success..

.. or is it the case of "buy an app" ???

and select service tests..

there you will find all the hardware to test , including led...

Thanks all for the advice. I have run the test and checked and the light flashes blue, red, green..etc, I presume as it should. I did notice it flashing green for the first time yesterday after a missed call, but the functionality seems intermittent.

(However, I've just rung my phone from a landline while typing this, hung up without leaving a message (ie. just a missed call).. and guess what... NO FLASHING NOTIFICATION LIGHT ?? Now i'm getting a little confused :smileyconfused:...) This functionality with my phone ie definately not working properly..

After receiving missed call, voicemail messages or messages, after how long is it supposed to flash, and what colour for what reason, and for how long. Can we adjust the settings ourselves ? Are all the colours available for us to use ?

I must say i'm pleased with the response from this site :smileyhappy:, thanks for your help people...

I have another question relating to using my blutooth car kit,which I will post separately....

The notification light should blink until you clear the notification.

So as long as you have not cleared the notification it should keep blinking.

It's not possible to change colors for the light in the standard app's on the phone, but you can use other messaging app's to customize the color and such. Like Handcent SMS.

But you seems to have some problem with the light to actually work the way it should so I suggest that you run a software repair on the phone using PC Companion.

Ill do the software repair and also try Handcent, which I assume is an approved and "no problem causing" app ?

Handcent SMS is a really popular messaging app with good reviews so I don't think it should cause you any problems.

handcent loaded and works a treat. how do i switch off the standard message service ? I assume its in the setttings and applications but don't want to mess til i know what to do ?

Open the stock messaging app > menu key > settings > notifications.
