No connection with Lastest Version of Bridge for Mac

I was using Bridge for mac and evrything was perfect, then I made the mistake of upgrading to the last version and now no connection with the phone arc. Card appears on the desktop but Bridge is not "seeing" anything.

tried with 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 mac osx snow leopard, latest itunes.

Have you tried to install the program (Mac for Bridge)?

There's a setting in the phone at Settings > Sony Ericsson > Connectivity > USB mode. It should be set to Mass Storage but try both and see if it helps.

Sorry to hear that, this sounds strange.

Did you update to v1.1? And it couldn't find the phone any more? We did some modifications on the detection routine, but the Arc should obviously work.

A few things to try:

- Restart the phone and wait up to a minute after the phone has fully restarted until you plug it it.

- In rare occations, I have seen that the phone ID hasn't been correctly generated on the phone. You can try to remove the SD Card from the phone and then reinsert it again. Wait a minute before you plug the phone in.

v1.1 has much improved support for Media Transfer (MTP) so you could try either (regarding Markus answer above) but it shouldn't really matter in this case.

If none of the above works (and you are somewhat tech savvy) could you help me out with this:

- Connect the phone in Mass Storage mode

- Locate your Memory Card in Finder

- Locate the file "default-capabilty.xml"

- Open the file with TextEdit or any text editing app

- Locate the line that looks something like this "AAD-3880100-BV"

- Post the typeID value here (This is no personal data, it's just the string used to identify the phone model)

after several reboot It seems to work now althought it is not stable, sometimes it take 1 or two try (unplug and replug USB ) to get Mac Bridge to detect the phone properly, the Mac Detect the sd card everytime it's just the software that has trouble now.

OK, that's somewhat good news anyway.

Could you do a test for me?

- Turn off autostart (In Bridge goto Settings->General->When a phone is connected.. and set it to "Do nothing")

- Quit Bridge

- Connect the phone and wait a short while

- Start Bridge

Is this a more stable way of detecting the phone than plugging the phone in while Bridge is running?

(Just trying to figure out what would cause this problem....)

Unfortunately... No, the Connection seems to be a completely random thing based on stars and weather pattern IMO. I get the icon on the desktop but no connection in Bridge, if that can help I can also tell you that DoubleTwist works but seems slower than it use to be to detect the phone.

OK mow I have two problems, connection is random and I can't figure out when and why it's connecting or not

second: When it's connecting it doesn't list the music and podcast already on my phone, it's like i'm syncing for the first time everytime.

At first I had no problem connecting my xperia s to my mac, then suddely "sony brige for mac" v.2.0 could´t find my phone for some reason.

My sulution:

Tryed to connect my phone to another mac with Bridge installed, and it worked. Then I plugged in the phone in the first computer that did not worked before, then magiclly it found it...

I don't have another mac I can use, anyway seems to work "better" now but the whole experience so far with Android+Sony+Rogers is terrible. Probably will just buy an iPhone next time. can't believe we are still at 2.3.4 and v5 is coming out this summer. Google should push their update through. too many layers of software on one phone.

Ok this is the latest in my constant struggle with this software. Now It connect fine but it wont sync I get the Sync Completed with 84 errors message (84 is the number of songs I try to transfer)

any ideas ?

I can import from the phone fine.

are you trying to transfer pictures/music, just transfer them directly from your Mac to your Internal storage w/o any program as if it was a flashdrive

yes If I drag and drop from the itunes window to the music folder on the sd card it works

Hi,

I had the same problem with my Sony Experia S and went thru' the following to sort it.

(1) I was on Version 2.2 of Sony Bridge. The updater on Ver 2.2 did not automatically upgrade me to Ver. 3.0 even though it was available - looks like a problem with the upgrader on Ver 2.2

(2) I moved my Experia to Ver 4.0

(3) I could no longer see the Experia using Sony Bridge (Ver 2.2)

(4) After much research on the web, upgraded to Ver 3.0 of Sony Bridge

(5) Now can see my Experia S
