Vivaz Pro touchscreen not working

Few days back my Vivaz Pro's touch screen stopped working. Everytime I have to open the slider and use the keyboard to use the options. But all options cannot be operated using keyboard.As per touch screen troubleshooting guidelines, i cleaned the display using a soft tissue. I have even updated the latest software on my phone. But still, the touch screen not working.

Can anyone help how to resolve this issue without submitting the phone at SE Service Center? I had a very bad experience with SE's authorized service center people in the past :smileysad:.

Note: I have noticed one more thing: If I touch any part of the screen in the standby view, the status bar's option gets activated, and it shows the menu of the status bar.

Hi, since you have updated phone to latest software and still unable to resolve this issue, most likely that it is a hardware problem. You have no other option but to visit your local SE Service Centre for phone repair.

This is the place (SE Service Center) where I don't want to go ever. I had a bitter experience in the past. Within 8 months of purchase of this phone, my phone got a problem with "FLEX". I purchased it on 15-Jun-2010. Since my phone was in warranty period, so I decided to submitted it at Authorized SE Service Center. But after a month when I tried to follow up with these guys, they said that they don't have Flex in their stock so, I have to wait for another few months. I took back my phone from these guys and then I found the way out to resolve the problem by using a bluetooth headset.

I am sure that SE Service Centre are useless, there are hundreds of complaints against them.

Is there any other option available? Can I purchase the touch screen separately from SE Showroom and then it can be fitted by local mobile repairing guys?

Much appreciated if I get a good response from Moderator or other experienced guys.

The other option which I can think of is to repair it by local mobile repair shop, they should easily get hold of a replacement touch screen.

Having said that, it will be good to be sure that it is indeed a faulty touch screen which an experienced repair technician can access and evaluate that.

By the way, do you have any idea how much it would cost for the new touch screen? I am from New Delhi, India.

To be honest, I have no idea. You may want to 'shop' around to check out for the price, both for the touch screen and the repair.

One other thing .... Is your phone still under warranty? If the fault is warrantable, you should weigh the repair options, between SE Service Centre and local repair shop.

Anyway, hope you get your Vivaz Pro fixed soon.

No. My warranty period got over on 15-Jun-2011. Will check the price of the screen online.
