mini pro sleep mode-switch off issue~!

i own sk17i from gujarat i have only one major issue which is at night when the phone goes in sleep mode for a longer span of inactivity even if its on and in sleep mode any caller from the other side finds my phone "switched off" but as soon as i activate my phone when i wake up in the morning again it resumes normally.

this is very problematic in case of emergency if anyone tries to call me at night!!!

did this issue recently started?

go to

settings -> call settings -> call blocking

press and hold the power button and take a screenshot

have you checked it yourself :smileygrin:

i asume you did..

well this is new..

check again if it shows same behaviour or not..if it does..

change the sim card of a different mobile operator,,,,

insert the other sim card and see if the problem persists or not..

i have not yet updated to 2.3.4 ICS its still gingerbread so cant take the screenshot.

but as per your instruction i checked. each and every call barring options are DEACTIVATED/DISABLED.

i will update it to 2.3.4 today itself to chk if the problem is solved but i doubt it.

2.3.4 it's not ICS, ICS = 4.0

but yeah try the update and don't forget to backup beforehand

Make sure you backup everything

Settings -> privacy -> Back up my data and Automatic restore should be selected

How to install it

You need to

go to settings -> applications -> check unknown sources

download IO File Manager

download the backup & restore app, transfer it to your SD card, use OI file manager to find it -> tap on it -> install it

Contacts

just to play it safe sync your contacts w/ google if you haven't already

open your phonebook

press MENU button -> tap on Send Contacts -> select all -> send it to your email

on your computer

-> download the file -> go to your gmail -> click on contacts -> click on more actions -> on the drop down menu click on "import" -> choose the file -> and click import

Apps

Don't worry so much about backing up your apps

on your computer go to

market.android.com -> log in -> click on My Library -> and send all your apps to your phone

SMS/MMS

if you don't want to use the backup & restore app then

Install "backup SMS" to back up your SMS and MMS to your Gmail

changed the sim card- got a new one.

updated the phone software

have a new issue - sms were not going through before the update, all my yesterday's sms are still in sending mode.

i m monitoring my phone for sleep mode and sms issue till tomorrow

you probably need the correct APN settings

settings -> sony ericsson -> connectivity -> internet settings

APN are ok i double checked it with the carrier.

I guess replacing the sim should work .

after the new sim for last 3 hours sms are going fine.

will wait and watch till tomorrow.

hi there...after about 5 days of observation:

1. sms prob is gone... its working normally.

2. but the sleep mode switch off issue is still there... suddenly the mobile starts showing the "service is unavailable" and after sometime it resumes again weird..

observation: during the service unavailble notification i tried to search my service provider all other providers were visible only mine was unavailable.

which is odd coz my service provider Airtel is top provider with great coverage.

is this antenna problem, software problem..???

will appreciate your help on this one

indeed it might be a hardware issue, you already did everything from your part, you updated your software, repaired the software, try different SIM cards, entered the APN, Got a new SIM card, and the problem persists

Maybe i need to reflash... also i removed like 20% of system/app shit but it was only shit..so it shouldn't effect phone... also i think it was happening with fresh install of firmware. Do your shutter button launches camera?
