So I will have this problem in every call I get - means phone is no use to me! As I said, I can't change the volume in every call - I may have fallen off my bike before I get to change the volume! Perhaps my wife could then sue Sony Erricson for manslaughter???? Think she's rather have me alive and with a phone that I can alter the volume!

I got a spiro for my birthday recently, and I then bought a set of " Bud" type headphones to use, as I use my phone as a walkman to cycle to work. The ones that came with the phone kept falling out of my ears.

Trouble is, when I get a call, I'm deafened by the call, as I can't work out how to change the headset volme. I've looked in the settings option, but there doesn't seem to be a way to change this. I almost fall off my bike when I get a call! Help! Anyone got any clues?

How about adjusting the phone's volume key during the call.

Yeh, Chris - I could do that - except that I'm cycling along at the time, so I'd have to stop, get my phone out of my pocket, change the volume..... What I need is to be able to change the default volume. Surely this is not too much to ask? Thanks for trying though Chris. I've tried the headphones that came with the phone and it's the same with them. Problem not solved though!

If you lower the volume during one call, the next call should "resume" at the same level.

If you are using 3rd party headphones it might however be that these are not compatible and that the phone is unable to do this.

Try with the ones that came bundled with the phone and see if it works.

So, Marcus, are you saying it is not possible for me to alter the volume unless I'm in a call - so there is no default volume setting which I can alter on the phone? Please help, I dread getting calls on my bike now! My other half doesn't like the idea of deafening me just to tell me she's picked up our son, so I don't need to, or could I pick up milk/bread/whatever on the way home! Texts are impossible to pick up when you're peddling along!

That is correct. The in-call volume cannot be altered without actually being in a call.
