After software update - volume side buttons issue

Hello,

After software update, my side volume buttons controls only media volume (even if no media are on). How I can change it to same state like before - When no media are played than side buttons controls a incoming calls volume.

Hi @Toastik, let me see if I can help out here.

I assume that you recently updated your XA2 to Android 9.0 (Pie). In Android 9.0, the volume keys will only adjust the media volume. This is different from previous versions of Android, where ringtone volume was the default setting.

There is no way to change this setting in Android Pie. However, there is a toggle button for the three ringer modes just above the on-screen volume slider, which lets you turn the ringer off and on with a single tap. During calls, the volume keys will adjust the speaker volume for call audio, and the on-screen volume slider will show an additional column for this.

There may exist applications in Play Store manufactured by a third party that allow you to change the mapping of the volume keys. Keep in mind though that Sony cannot guarantee the performance of any third-party applications.
