In Android 8 (Oreo), probably similar in 9:

Press Phone app on the Home screen.

Press menu button (three dots top right).

Select Settings.

Select Account for calls.

If having a phone with dual-SIM, select the one you want to change (at the top, indicated by the operator name).

Select Additional settings.

Now you can enable and disable Call waiting.

You can also look at information from your telecom provider regarding calls waiting and missed calls; there could be some different options. For example, if a phone is off, or in flight mode, it obviously won't record a missed call in the log, but my operator also sends a SMS, short text message, for missed calls.

When I'm on a call and not looking at my phone I do not hear anything that lets me know someone is trying to ring. The person calling only get a 'this line is busy' recording. Also there is nothing in my missed calls once the original call is completed. I what the phone to interrupt the original call with a sound letting me know someone else is calling. Please help
