Sleep screen doesn't display clock or notifications, no notifications

As per title: when the phone sleeps, all I get is a black screen. No clock. No notifications. No alerts. I have turned on the respective settings, and I don't use stamina mode, but it doesn't make a difference.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

If you expect XA2 to have Ambient Display, then I'm sorry to tell you that this feature is not supported on phones with an OLED display. The only Sony phone that has such a display at the moment is XZ3.

Are you serious? My old, cheap Moto G3 from years ago can do this. Seeing notifications without waking up the screen is basic feature.
