Hi Sieghartl

It's Xperia Companion I used - I assumed it would back up everything, being Sony's reccomended software in the support FAQ. Guess I'll know to use BnR instead in future.

I've had to backup my XA1 to send it to be fixed, as they warned it would be wiped when they had it, but on restoring the content it only seems to be a partial restore - It's almost exclusively photos and music. None of my settings, accounts, even wallpapers have been restored. I know that 3rd party apps aren't restored, but this hasn't even restored the data for the first party apps.

Did I do something wrong, or is this intentional? I managed to transfer more data than this from my old phone just during the initial setup when I first got it, I can't imagine Sony's own backup and restore program would have so little functionality.

Are you using Sony BnR app in the phone or Xperia Companion to backup your phone?

If you are using Sony BnR app, then it should restore your device settings, call log, contacts, messages, Xperia Home layout, supported third-party apps along with their data if you selected to backup everything.
