The phone immediately locks as soon as it's set down, although I have now noticed it only seems to happen when I set it down on my laptop (which is where I normally set it down while I work). I think there must be something in the laptop that interferes with the phone but I have NO idea how that would make the phone lock itself. My colleague has an XA1 as well and it does the exact same thing :S

Guess I'll just have to stop setting my phone on the laptop...

Thanks for the assistance anyway!

Even though I've disabled "smart backlight control" my phone automatically turns off the screen and locks itself when I set it down. I've obviously tried restarting the phone and turning this setting on/off multiple times. Anyone else have this problem or know how to solve it? Thanks in advance

Have you tried safe mode?

If not then try it for a couple of hours to see if it is caused by third-party app or not.

To enter safe mode hold power button for some time and then press power off until a reboot to safe mode dialog box appears, then click ok.

Hi there, I just tried safe mode and unfortunately the phone still locks itself when I set it down.

Any other ideas?

It's a pretty good guess actually, I never thought of that and the hard drive is actually under the area where I set my phone and they ususally have some fairly strong magnets inside.

Cheers for the insight!
