topic problem with compass in XA Series

Hi there,

Just got the phone (xa1) and I tried a couple of compass apps but none of them seem to be working. The needle is just in one place and shakes a bit.

Can it be an issue with the magnetometer? Thanks

dial *#*#7378423#*#* and go to Service tests > Compass. do pitch, yaw and roll values change when you move the phone around?

My compass is total crap. The so-called "test" -- The fact that the values change when you move the phone around -- means nothing. The values change, but mine always points in nearly the opposite direction. Waving it around in a figure 8 pattern also achieves nothing. There doesn't seem to be a genuine "calibrate" function.
