It's actually happening, that is why Microsoft is testing continuum and there are several keyboards for mobile devices to accomplish so.. Nougat and Oreo will help this "revolution" even further by allowing better split screen and so on...

Slide out keyboards?

I have an xa ultra and a z ultra. I am old school and wanted a big screen so I could use it like a tablet. I wanted to take it one step further and find a slide out keyboard/docking station so I could use it as a mini laptop. These phones are getting faster and faster with new CPUs and the ram rivals laptops. With micro SD cards capable of a 1tb why wouldn't people start using them as micro laptops? I just can't find a slide out keyboard that could plug in instead of bt or WiFi to save battery. Heck the accessory could have an extra battery built in, lol. Does anyone.know.or seen something out there? I would really appreciate it.

Thank you for replying. I know there are universal bt keyboards but I want one mad for my z ultra or xa ultra that plugs into the USB or possibly the charging side things, lol. I don't know what that does but it says in the manual it's for docking. I'd like one made for the phone that will snap onto it so I don't have to fumble to use it or keep it separate when not using. Just snap on and slide in when not using and slide out when I want to use it. If there is something, I haven't seen it. I guess it would he.like how the Motorola has snap on pieces for theirs. Does that make sense?
