Do you get a message that says "System UI has stopped working"?

If the message System UI has stopped appears, perform the following actions:

Disable all accessibility features.
Block notifications from apps that generate the message System UI has stopped.
Restart your Xperia™ device.

Disabling accessibility features Android 6.0 or 7.x To disable accessibility features

Find and tap Settings > Accessibility.
Make sure to turn off every setting, depending on setting, either by tapping the slider, or by first tapping the settings title and then tapping the slider.

Blocking notifications Android 7.x To block notifications

Drag the status bar downwards.
Touch and hold the notification from the app that generated the System UI has stopped message.
Tap Block all notification > DONE.

Android 6.0 To block notifications

Drag the status bar downwards.
