My unit overheats when charging I have to put a cold pack under it. And once it's battery runs empty, it won't turn back on untill I hit the reboot button. Anything similar happen to anyone

I am sorry to hear about this issue. Does it happen during any particlar app more than others? Is it while it's on standby?

No Particualr App been causing it. Yesterday it was always while i was using it. It has calmed down now and lasted all night while I was asleep without switiching off.

Hi cameron,it happens when am charging my unit. I had this unit for only over a year and I am kind of wondering is there any flaw in this model? I used to had an experia neo a long time ago, and I never had any problem with it until I needed more memory since that only has 1G I think.

It’s normal that the higher speed processor in the device generates heat. It is also normal that the device gets warm while charging, especially if charging when the battery level is low.

Try these steps one after the other. Check whether the problem was solved after each step, before trying the next one.

Make sure that you are using an original Sony charger and USB cable specifically intended for charging your device. Other chargers may be too weak as they may have a different electric current rating (mA). It is recommended that you use a charger that is plugged into a wall socket instead of using a computer (and USB cable) to charge your device.
During hot summer days the device can heat up very quickly, especially when placed near the windscreen in a car. If the device is being charged under such conditions, the heat can cause the charging to stop or not to start at all. Check to make sure the charging problem is not caused by a high battery temperature.
Update your Xperia device to a new software version using Xperia Companion.
Perform a factory data reset or perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Note! Always back up all personal data before performing a software repair. All data in the internal memory is overwritten during a software repair. Content on an external SD card is kept. Here's some steps on how to backup using Xperia Companion.
Contact your retailer or Local support team. Note! Before handing the phone over for service, back up all your data to avoid possible data loss. Data on the device may get deleted when examined. Don't forget to bring proper documentation, for example, proof of purchase and warranty card. The documentation required may vary depending on market, country or region. If possible, deactivate the Protection by my Xperia and remove the Google accounts on your device before sending it in for service or repair to prevent Protection by my Xperia or Google Device Protection from locking your device.
