w100i-spiro keypad lock

As there is no other option for locking keypad other than sliding and autolock,

I wish that if only i could make a little app using java so that when I run that app the keypad would lock,

Anyway i dont even know the spelling for java, so I require a little help from who can do this little thing.

anybody does this, its a big help for many spiro users.

java isn't the same as let's say symbian.

java works in sandbox mode on your phone. i.e. it can't affect the phone itself. you can have write access and read access but the type of thing you want is not possible.

why do you want such a thing anyway? if i'm listening to music, the slide locks. games, you just minimise then lock. so what's the problem?

ive been using the phone for an year and i had to change 3 ribbons, because of the autolock sometimes dont work, i use slide to lock, and now id like to do it efficiently.

so there is no possible way is it.:smileyconfused:

i am no supreme expert but as far as i know, you can't write a java app for auto lock. there is a manual way. i'm not sure but try a combination of star and the top right and top left. you should be able to lock it like a normal non-slider. it should be the same combination

EDIT: the autolock normally works on homescreen and maybe on walkman player. i don't think it is sofisticated enough to lock anywhere else. shouldn't be a problem because if your using an app, you just minimise it and lock it on the homescreen. unless your saying it is a hardware fault.

the combination of keys dont work in spiro, ive tried everything, anyway i think software update would, fix the autolock
