Hi I'm wondering if you can help, My 8yo daughter put a password screen lock on her phone and must of entered it wrong as it will not open now? Is there any way of unlocking, I have tried "repair phone" in update service but it keeps telling me to make sure screen is unlocked? I have been reading it can be unlocked using the associated gmail password but I can see no option for that?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

In this case, you need to perform a software repair on your unit. If you receive the message that you are going to make sure that the screen is unlocked via Update Service, it sounds like the phone is powered ON. When you are going to perform a software repair, you need to make sure that the phone is completely OFF.

I suggest that you disconnect the phone from the PC > Remove the battery and insert it again > Without powering ON the phone, connected while you hold the volume down(-) button. Follow these steps when you have the on screen instructions in Update Service.

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem, but when I downloaded the Update program it wouldn't work.

Yes, I turned the phone off.

Yes, I took the battery out.

Yes, I put the battery back in.

Yes, I waited for a minute or two.

Yes, I connected the USB cable to my computer

Yes, I held down the volume switch

Yes, I connected the micro-USB plug to my phone

And nothing happened for ten minutes.

I repeated all the steps.

Same result.

What do you suggest now?

Thanks in advance.
